We operate throughout the United States, from the Permian Basin and the Bakken to Appalachia. We hold more than 9.5 million acres with a total resource base of approximately 18.5 billion oil equivalent barrels. We also provide operational support for unconventional resource development in Argentina.

Permian Basin XTO Energy is a major operator in the Permian Basin.
Appalachia XTO Energy is proud to operate in the Appalachian basin, a region that is home to the Marcellus and Utica shale formations. A large focus of our operational work in these formations takes place in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
Bakken XTO Energy is proud to operate in the Bakken, a geological formation occupying about 200,000 square miles of the subsurface of the Williston Basin.
Louisiana With more than 100 employees, XTO Energy operates in 13 parishes and holds more than 602,000 acres in Louisiana.
New Mexico With 149 employees, XTO Energy operates in 2 counties and holds more than 887,000 acres in New Mexico.
North Dakota With more than 140 employees, XTO Energy operates in 8 counties and holds more than 479,000 acres in North Dakota.
Oklahoma With 274 employees, XTO Energy operates in 26 counties and holds more than 1.1 million acres in Oklahoma.
Pennsylvania With 129 employees, XTO Energy operates in 15 counties and holds more than 534,000 acres in Pennsylvania.
Texas With more than 2,600 employees, XTO Energy operates in 88 counties and holds more than 3.6 million acres in Texas.
West Virginia With 38 employees, XTO Energy operates in 9 counties and holds more than 140,000 acres in West Virginia.
Wyoming XTO Energy operates in 3 counties and holds more than 130,000 acres in Wyoming.
