OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA
Loaves and Fishes Food Cupboard, Panhandle Area Sheltered Workshop (PASW), Texas County Emergency Management and Oaks of Mamre Shelter in Guymon, Okla., will each receive $1,000. The Goodwell Volunteer Fire Department serving Texas County, Okla. will also receive $1,000.
“This donation will be used for supporting our Special Olympics participants,” said PASW Administrator Carol Batterman. “We will take 23 athletes to Stillwater in May, and this is the highlight of the year for them, many of whom would not ordinarily get to leave Guymon. The contribution will help with transportation, meals and rooms. Panhandle Area Sheltered Workshop (PASW) appreciates XTO Energy’s ongoing support."
“Oaks of Mamre is very grateful to receive this contribution from XTO Energy,” said Oaks of Mamre Manager Jack Peck. “Thanks to support such as this, we have and will continue to make a difference in the lives of those that reside here. As a faith-based organization, we believe in helping those who have fallen and lost their way. Sometimes that is the result of the individual’s own bad choices and mistakes, but sometimes it is the result of circumstances outside the individual’s control. Regardless of why, we believe in providing a hand up to those who are in great need of assistance and a place to call 'home' for a period. That is why we are committed to 'helping the fallen get back on their feet', and XTO Energy’s ongoing support is a great help in achieving that mission.”
“Our employees care deeply about the health and wellbeing of the people in Texas County, and we are proud to help local agencies provide vital community services,” said Jared Young, XTO public and government affairs manager, Midcontinent Division.
