Permian Region - XTO Energy acquired some of the Company's first assets in the venerable oil province of West Texas. Over time, the Company has repeatedly enhanced production and reserves through operational upgrades, infill drilling, horizontal drilling, CO2 miscible flooding and the discovery of new zones.

XTO Energy has an established history of success in the Permian Basin through enhancing recovery in premier reservoirs. Over the past decade, results have yielded increases in acquired reserves from 200% to 500% in multiple fields. These properties have steadily increased production through extensive activity including returning shut-in wells to production, optimizing existing well performance and then expanding the drilling program to increase recovery from these ‘tight’ reservoirs. Development work in South Texas is also included in our Permian Region. XTO produces over 80% of its daily operated oil production from the Permian Basin.

Production operations in Alaska's Cook Inlet and South Texas are also managed from the Permian area office. The Cook Inlet contributes about 2,900 barrels to our gross daily oil production. The aforementioned acquisitions gave XTO a foothold in the prolific producing province of South Texas where the Company is actively drilling.
